What is the Event Maximum Total Attending and how does it work?

The Event Maximum Total Attending can be set for any Event that is RSVP enabled.  This establishes the maximum total attendees for the Event.  If an RSVP with a total attending that exceeds the Event Maximum Total Attending number, then the user will receive a warning that the Event is full, unless a Waiting List has been enabled for that event.  If a Waiting List is enabled, then when an RSVP with a total attending that exceeds the Event Maximum Total Attending number, the user will receive a warning that the RSVP will be added to a Waiting List.  The user can then either accept, or decline to be put on the Waiting List for that event.

Once an event has exceeded the Event Maximum Total Attending, on an Event with a Waiting List, then even if existing RSVP attendees change and reduce their Total Attending number, the Waiting List will remain and all future RSVP’s will be added to the Waiting List regardless of these changes.
